Why you need to vote even if there is cheating

40% of Filipinos reportedly believe that there would be cheating this coming May elections. If this is the case , why do you need to vote? Here is my personal answer:

I will vote because this is my personal way of saying no to candidates that are not fit to be in public office. It is like doing a protest in my blog to stop extra judicial killings knowing that only three people will be reading my post. Voting this election is my way of protesting against candidates who were involved in illegal activities. Voting is also my way of saying no to candidates who are spending millions to win. I honestly believe that these sorts of senatoriables will take their money back through their pork barrel funds.

I will vote to show my support for candidates that I think are fit to be in public office.A number of senatorial candidates who are in my list will not make it to the top 12 this coming election. Why am I sure about this? Because majority of the Filipino people do not even know these people exist and are in fact running as senatorial candidates. I will still vote for these people as a way of saying that “hey, people like you are exemplary leaders and you deserve my support”.

Even if there would be cheating during this election I can say that at least I have tried to cast my vote and expressed what I wanted to say about politicians who want to be in power for the next few years.
