sss always offlineIf you plan to go to an SSS branch to inquire about getting an SSS ID or to follow up a membership benefit, make sure that you call the SSS office number first. Why? I have this frequent experience of going to the SSS office only to be informed that they cannot process my transaction because they are offline. SSS online could have come in helpful but it takes years for the SSS website to load. I am currently trying to access some pages in the SSS online inquiry site but all I see now is this message:

“Network Timeout

The server at www.sss.gov.ph is taking too long to respond”

It is quite ironic that many Filipinos pay a lot of contributions to the SSS but the government agency cannot even sustain (I think afford is a better term) for a reliable and consistent network connection for their branches and good hosting for their website. Unfortunately, some people also claim that the SSS sms inquiry, the Text SSS is as unreliable as the sss website and network connection.
