Is there cheating in Philippine television?
Last week, the buzz about ABS CBN’s afternoon game show Wowowee cheating in their wilyonaryo segment started to circulate in the internet. The “Wilyonaryo’s controversial video” is actually posted in several Filipino sites. Yesterday, Willie Revillame has spoke up during the show but instead of explaining why there are two numbers in the colored wheels, Revillame attacked Joey de Leon who earlier wrote an article in the Manila bulletin saying that cheating is bad on tv.
In an effort to explain what really happened during that controversial segment, the ABS CBN stated that “Since Wilyonaryo is a new game, a mechanical glitch occurred in the reveal portion“.
Too bad such “mechanical glitches” can change the fortune of people who join the show and can affect the way people see a respected television network such as ABS CBN.
