Eden Nature Park: Quick Escape from the City
What made me say that Eden Nature Park is a quick escape from the city is for the fact that it is actually a resort located within the city. (Yep, Toril is still part of Davao City).

Eden Nature Park, however, is a relief from all the other beach resorts because it showcases instead the beauty and serenity of the nature (Think of trees, meditation areas, garden, fishing village, horse park).

Eden Nature Park was developed as early as 1974 but was opened to the public in 1997. It perhaps took that long to develop the nature park because 90% of the 80 hectare area is man made (which is to say that most of the trees and even the waterfall are man made).

Eden Nature Park is also an ideal place for camping. Camping costs 788 a day, tents provided. The place is also the best place to meditate especially on holy week so if you are planning to stay in Eden Nature Park this coming holy week, make sure to book your stay early.

Eden Nature Park Rates
The Eden Nature Park rates for those who want to avail of the day tour and recreational package are the following:
Eden Nature Park rate package 1: Buffet Lunch (package includes entry to the Park and of course a buffet lunch at the Vista Restaurant)
Php 420 / adult
Php 280 / child
Eden Nature Park rate package 2: (package include free entry to the park and packed light snacks)
Php 135 / adult
Php 135 / child
Beautiful birds such as this peacock hang around and “entertain” guests at the Eden Nature Park Vista Restaurant
Eden Nature Park rate package 3 (minimum of 5): (package includes free entry to the park amd to any one of the following recreational areas: fishing Village, Swimming Pool, Horseback Riding, or Mountain Trail. Free snacks are served on plate at the Eden Nature Park Vista Restaurant)
Php 230 / adult
Php 165 / child

For travelers on a budget availing of the Eden Nature Park day tour packages and choosing between Eden Nature Park package 2 and 3, I will advise you to get Eden Nature Park day tour package 2. Just pay for entrance to the recreational area of your choice. You will be wasting your money if you avail of package 3 , for example, if some of your companions opt to tour the park instead of availing the recreational freebie. You may also bring some (heavier) snacks with you.
If you prefer to stay in Eden Nature park, you can check this link for the accommodation and overnight rates.
What to Check out at the Eden Nature Park
It will be a good idea to avail of the Eden Nature Park shuttle service tour to be able to tour around 40 hectares of the area. The shuttle service cost is PhP 55.00 per head and is inclusive of a tour guide service.

Eden Nature Park is venturing in another project which will showcase the heritage and different cultures of different indigenous tribes in Davao City
There will be two stop overs during the tour. The first stop is at the Amphitheatre and flower garden. The place is home to beautiful flowers and is an ideal place for a wedding garden ceremony.

The Ampitheatre
The second stop is at the Lolas’ garden. The place gives you an excellent view of Davao City.

Here are some of the pics we have taken at the Eden Nature Park on our day tour yesterday, February 2, 2008:

A peacock beautifully spreading its feathers

Beautiful plants and flowers such as the Jade vine (green) and Mickey Mouse (orange) are abundant at the Eden Nature Park

A green lesson to ponder: The value of trees

Produce from Eden Nature Park’s hydroponic and organic farming are sold at Davao City supermarkets as Eden products
And of course family pictures:
