Are You in Favor of the Human Security Act?
Are you in favor of the Human Security Act of 2007? Proponents claim that the HAS will be an effective means to combat acts of terror in the country, Many, however, believe that behind these anti terrorism justifications, there will be threats to the basic human rights of the Filipinos.
The present regime that occupies the executive branch of the Philippine government is known for its eligit grab of the presidential power from a duly elected president in 1999. Hence, to stay in power, this regime must practice favoritism and only favoring those who are its political allies. Can you trust that this regime will not use its power to continuously hold on that power they coveted illegally from the mandate of the people? The passage of this law, in itself is void and null, since the promoter and its authorship was done by a regime whose legitimacy is in question. It is amazing how Filipinos continue to deny that this administration is not after protecting the rights of the Filipinos but how it can keep itself entrenched in control of the country’s government without regards to the rule of law.
