There are 80 senators wannabe who compete for 12 seats in senate.
The oldest of the candidates is Joker Arroyo, 80, and the youngest is a 30 year old independent candidate named Vincent Ramiro but since Philippine lawmandates that a senator is at least 35 years old on the day of the election, Antonio Trillanes is the youngest qualified candidate at 35.
The first to file his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) is Oliver Lozano, who earlier filed an impeachment complaint against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and the last is a certain Manuel Po.
Here is the complete list of the candidates who vie for the 12 seats in senate:

I’ll go for Escudero and Lacson…
GENUINE OPPOSITION…formerly UNO!
but not all of them…there are also few in the Unity party!
I will vote for Escudero and Cayetano for their principled stand. Young and aggressive and idealistic too. Lregarda i like her because she is so much for the poor and she will do what is right for the country. Aquino I like too because he will not do something that will tarnish the imahe of his parents. Roco as well - she seems to be a principled woman. What I know is that I will not vote for the following: Sotto, Oreta, Singson, Pichay, Recto, Pangilinan, Montano, Gomez, Arroyo, Honasan. By the way I will also vote for Lacson. Strong and fearless.
I will not vote for the candidates of Genuine Opposition (GO) because they are a waste of my time and are nothing but self-seeking opportunists. All they ever do is moan and trying hard to get sympathy votes by making unfounded accusations on the administration and they think that if the present administration is defeated all the problems affecting juan de la Cruz will disappear!
They might as well realise that since 1946 we have been constantly changing our leaders to no avail and poor Juan de la Cruz is not any better, in fact, he may even suffer in their hands once elected. They truly believe that bashing the administration is one way of harnessing votes and this is what they are doing and nothing concrete is coming from them with regards to what platform they have in their minds on how to help the poor Filipino. So, TEAM UNITY definitely will have my vote and they make SENSE!
